Copse

A thicket of small trees or bushes; a small wood.

  1. When you see a sawn-off or downed trunk with sprouts all around that is called coppicing. Sprouts of the original tree shoot out from below the cut. When done by a person with many of the same kind of tree, a thick stand will occur. This makes for a quicker border than planting a row of trees.

      1. Plants can be very forgiving. I’ve had a couple in the same pot with no change of soil for 15-20 years. Perhaps Caesar would like some catnip or wheat grass; both grow like weeds.
