Scientists live for answers.

Humanists live for the questions that prompt the answers.

In scientific inquiry the driving force is the discovery of facts. Facts lead to a conclusion that can be physically proven.

In the humanities conclusions are also drawn but by building on and connecting previously established theories.

The humanities are often labeled “subjective” and “inclusive.”

These misconceptions are actually strengths that allow for debate and different perspectives to emerge.

As different perspectives emerge a richness develops.

Subjects such as history, literature and philosophy are rich with life lessons as they capture and represent the essence of what it means to be human.
